This page describes how The Signal currently operates: an informational website for sports analysis and a record of published picks.

Browsing public pages

You can browse picks and results without creating an account. Registration, when enabled, is optional. An account gives you a profile, favourites and access to member picks. No payments are processed on the website.

Technical infrastructure

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Technical connection information may be processed to deliver and protect the service, including IP addresses, browser characteristics, requested page addresses and access times.

Fonts, crests and advertising

Fonts and team crests are served from this website. The Signal's public pages do not include advertising or audience analytics services added to the website's code.

Your language preference is stored locally in your browser, without changing your account data.

Stake calculator

When signed out, your bankroll and currency are used locally and stored in this browser only if you enable their display on cards. If you save a bankroll in your profile, its amount and currency are stored privately in The Signal’s Cloudflare database and accessible through the API only to that authenticated account, to personalise stakes across devices. Account bankrolls are not copied to the anonymous browser preference. You can edit or remove yours in your profile. These values are not included in shared tickets, exports or public statistics. The bankroll is a calculation reference; The Signal does not hold user funds.

Your member account

Authentication is provided by Supabase Auth, which manages your email address and the information required to sign in. Your password is not stored in The Signal's database and is not accessible to the owner. Google sign-in, when enabled, uses the profile information approved on the provider's consent screen.

The Signal stores your account identifier, display name, profile creation date, terms acceptance and favourite picks in Cloudflare infrastructure. Favourites are personal and are not used to send advertising. Do not include sensitive information in your display name.

Your authentication session is stored locally in your browser to keep you signed in. The Sign out button ends the session on the current device. Sign out after using a shared device.

Data is retained while the profile is in use. You can request deletion of your account and associated data from the Account page. The owner reviews the request; the authentication identity is also deleted at the provider.

What the pick archive contains

The archive contains matches, picks, odds, stakes, publication times and results. This record does not require visitors to identify themselves. The owner's working reports and internal notes are not published in full.

Project administration

The administration area is intended for the owner and is separate from public pages. You do not need a visitor account to browse the website.

Updates

If the way this website operates changes, this notice will be updated to reflect the services and data used.
